Couples therapy has, as its focus, the emotional relationship between its two members rather than the exploration of specific, individual problems.  The couple relationship is usually the one in which we invest our deepest hopes, needs and desires and when things go wrong, it can have a devastating effect on our lives.  All relationships require work to succeed but sometimes couples can get stuck in destructive and distressing patterns of relating that seem too difficult to manage and resolve on their own. In working with couples, I seek to restore the damaged lines of communication and encourage new patterns of relating through which the couple can come to a deeper understanding of themselves and the meaning of their relationship.
