Adv.Dip, MNCPS (Acc)
Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapist and Counsellor

My approach to psychotherapy is influenced by my own eventful and at times challenging life experiences, which gives me deeper empathy and insight into people’s problems, past and present, and a greater understanding of why particular behaviours are adopted and used as coping mechanisms.

I am an NCPS registered integrative Psychotherapist and work with individuals using a humanistic integrative model of psychotherapy.  I value the influences of other counselling modalities such as the transpersonal, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural frameworks.  Alongside my own particular modality, I also occasionally use various techniques such as stress management, mindfulness and relaxation exercises.

In my practice, I offer personal support in the form of psychotherapy, counselling, couples therapy and group therapy.  This work may be brief and focus on a particular issue over a few sessions or may engage with deeper more complex problems over a prolonged period.  The form of help that will be most useful to you will be discussed at an initial exploratory session.

The therapeutic space lies somewhere between inner and outer realities; an intermediate space that belongs exclusively to neither but contains both.  The client’s unique life patterns become revealed and are at times dramatically played out, but this time with the possibility of the client re-writing the script and becoming once again (or perhaps for the first time) the author of their own lives.

Training and Experience

I regularly attend workshops and training as part of my continued development as a NCPS member.  This has included Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Time Limited Counselling and understanding the impact of Psychodynamics, Psychiatry and Psychopathology in therapy.

I safeguard my clients and practice by adhering to the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) code of ethics.  I also have regular supervision with a qualified and accredited supervisor.

My work experience includes providing counselling services to clients at the KC North Hub Blenheim Drug and Alcohol Service, and also with young people at Insight KC.  I was also a part of the Trauma Support Team at Transport for London.
